Ergonomics originates from the Greek roots of "ergo"meaning work and "nomos" meaning natural law. Combined its roots and you have the natural laws of work. Ergonomics is also refereed to and known as human factors engineering.
Ergonomics draws on a number of scientific disciplines, including anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, engineering, psychology, anthropometry, industrial hygiene, and kinesiology
It is the utilization of these disciplines that have led to adapting tasks, work stations, tools, and equipment to fit the workers anthropomorphic and cognitive needs.
